Meet Ihtiyeri Keti Ara, part of a special Best of Ibis release series highlighting the depth, diversity, and beauty of Indonesian coffees.
This wet-hulled coffee comes from Takengon, a town in the highlands of western Sumatra. Ihtiyeri Keti Ara is a family supply chain and exporting business that works with several cooperatives in the surrounding Aceh region. Through careful processing and efficient transport from the highlands to port, IKA delivers a remarkably high-quality coffee with the depth and character Indonesian coffees are known for.
Roasted medium-light to highlight the uniqueness of the cup, Ihtiyeri Keti Ara is an excellent choice for those who love earthy, layered coffees. It opens with an aromatic note of sweet grass, earthy yet dry and lightly vanilla-like rather than heavy. Robust black walnut brings a slightly smoky depth, leading into a lingering dried goji berry finish. As the coffee cools, its bright acidity softens into a smooth, syrupy sweetness reminiscent of dried fruit.
