SWEET POTATO  |  SOFT PRETZEL  |  TOASTED MARSHMALLOW

Meet Decaf La Fortaleza, pronounced “For-tuh-lay-zuh,” a triple-certified Honduran coffee from our longtime partners at COMSA.

After years of working with COMSA, we had the opportunity to send one of their Organic, Fairtrade, and Smithsonian Bird Friendly® coffees to Swiss Water® for decaffeination. The result is a beautifully expressive decaf that has more than just decaf drinkers excited.

“La Fortaleza,” meaning “The Fortress,” is the name of COMSA’s biodynamic farm and learning center, where they explore what thoughtful, regenerative coffee farming can accomplish. Through practices like soil chromatography, mushroom cultivation, and the creation of organic growing inputs, La Fortaleza serves as a place of creativity, innovation, and deeper connection to the land.

This washed-process coffee is roasted to a true medium, offering a comforting and surprisingly layered cup. It opens with a fresh, slightly salty note reminiscent of a soft pretzel, followed by a smooth mouthfeel with the gentle starchiness of baked sweet potato. A lingering toasted marshmallow finish brings just the right amount of sweetness, with a subtle smoky warmth.
