Bookkeeping and administrative assistance, approximately 25-35 hours per week. Payroll processing, daily cash drawer reconciliation, accept and receive customer payments, deposit preparation, bank reconciliations, accounts payable data entry, backup order processing, filing, additional month-end and administrative tasks. Must have bookkeeping, QuickBooks, and Excel knowledge. High integrity, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to maintain a level of confidentiality necessary.
Oversee the daily operation of the downtown deli, with an orientation on natural, holistic foods and artisan baked goods. The deli manager must be available to work 35 to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, early mornings including possible overtime, some weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities include the hiring, training, supervision and conduct of employees within the deli. In addition, a thorough culinary knowledge of cooking and baking is preferred in order to instruct, motivate, and guide current and new employees through new menus, food preparation, performance resolution, and creative ideas so as to maintain a skilled staff.
Additional responsibilities include keeping accurate records, inventory management, and completing sales analyses. The manager is also responsible for the creation of seasonal menu, food case and bake planning. The ability to meet quality and food service regulatory requirements is a must. The potential candidate must possess a current Food Handlers Permit. A Food Safety Manager Certificate is a plus. Within the department, an ability to support a culture of pride, ownership, and desire to exceed expectation while fostering a culture of flexibility is imperative. It is also of great importance to support a whole food, local, and seasonal emphasis by cultivating our deli mission statement.

As deli manager, there is an expectation to work closely with the company owner, Café Manager, Purchasing Manager, and local producers and farmers within Cache Valley. Participation in the downtown Gallery Walks, special events, and attendance at the local Farmers Market for purchasing is an essential part of the job expectation of creating relationships within the community.
In summary, experience in retail, food service, management, whole food culinary arts, a base knowledge of special dietary needs such as vegan and gluten-friendly cooking, and a passion to adapt and learn, is desired. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and basic computer technical skills are required.
